CHAPLAIN CORNER
Legend says that during the Battle of Belleau Wood in World War I, German troops referred to U.S. Marines as "Teufelshunde," which
translates to mean Dogs of the Devil. Devil Dogs are ferocious mountain dogs in Bavarian folklore. Germans called Marines "Devil Dogs"
because of the ferocious way they fought.
